Lara Gould

I studied History at the University of Leeds, focusing on the small, often overlooked details that make up people’s lives. The kind of work where you’re piecing together fragments and trying to make sense of the bigger picture. That naturally led me towards investigative work.

At Empty Property Hunters, I do much the same — just with real-world consequences. Tracking down the owners of long-term empty properties isn’t always straightforward. It takes curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to follow loose threads until they lead somewhere useful.

Every property has a story behind it. My job is to find it — and help turn a dead asset back into a home.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me walking in the countryside, at a local gig, or somewhere in London pretending I haven’t already been to that museum twice.

Interesting Fact

Lara rescued a stray cat called Jelli at university — currently attempting (with mixed success) to train her to walk on a harness.  And before joining Empty Property Hunters, Lara managed an indie music nightclub in Leeds - a useful introduction to problem-solving under pressure!
